ZOOM! Whitening FAQs$490
What can I expect from whitening?
Treating yourself to a whitening experience is proven to be an effective way to brighten and improve your smile drastically. With any whitening product, please note that long-term results will vary from person to person; it is not uncommon and it is quite routine to get touch-ups to preserve the color we’ve achieved together.
Am I a good candidate?
Many patients ask whether they’re a good candidate for whitening. To start, whitening is best initiated when your overall oral hygiene is stable, which can be determined by your primary dentist or by Beam Street’s doctors. In order for whitening to be fully effective, it is recommended to get a cleaning prior to your whitening session (we’ll take care of this for you). The whitening material is best applied onto natural teeth so we are able to deliver the best possible results.
Will I be sensitive?
Sensitivity after whitening can vary from person to person. Sensitivity is generally short-lived and common. Fortunately, our professional product includes inherent desensitizing agents so we can take every step to provide you with a more comfortable experience. It is also recommended, but not required, that you use a sensitivity toothpaste for two weeks prior to the procedure.
Can’t stay for your whitening? Take it to go! We’ll give you everything you need to enjoy your whitening experience from the comfort of home. (But we do recommend you pop back in to see us so we can monitor your progress and offer touch-ups as needed)
How about over-the-counter whitening?
We believe in delivering the highest quality of care. By doing your whitening in a controlled and comfortable setting, we can maximize the effectiveness of your treatment so you don’t have to keep questioning if over-the-counter whitening kits actually work. While there are alternative means of whitening your teeth such as whitening toothpastes or whitening strips, they pale in comparison to the results that in-office whitening can bring you in just one visit due their clinical-grade potency. You can supplement your whitening treatment with our take-home whitening kits. Teeth whitening has never been so easy, so efficient, and so effective—and this treatment applies to anyone and everyone.
How do I take care of my teeth after whitening?
Brush and floss your teeth as usual (twice a day!) but for the first 24 to 48 hours, be extra conscientious of the foods and beverages you consume. Think of it this way: anything that stains a white t-shirt or blouse may stain your teeth. Examples of items that stain include red wine (yes… we know), coffee, tea, blueberries, blackberries, red sauces, etc. And of course, smoking also causes stains.
